Bishop Eddie Long, the controversial Georgia-based head of one of the nation’s largest megachurches, has died according to the church he presided over. On Sunday morning he was confirmed dead by The New Baptist Church. He was said to have died from an aggressive form of cancer.
The first lady, Elder Venessa Long said ‘I am confident through my belief that my husband is now resting in a better place. Although his transition leaves a void for those of us who loves him dearly, we can celebrate and be happy for him, knowing he is at peace’.
Speculations had been going around due to the long absence of the pastor from the church and on his return he was looking rather slim. He attributed his weight loss to change of diet due to health challenge.
Bishop Long who was 63years old was survived by four (4) children and three (3) grandchildren.
