It’s official. After months of sharing relationship details, she jumped the broom with Reuben Chandler, Saturday, May 3.
The new Mrs. Chandler, who got hitched at Open Word Christian Ministries in Fairburn, GA, says she has been overwhelmed by the love and support of those she calls her “sincere friends, family, supporters & loved ones” throughout the process of moving forward.
Her new found joy is something she has been very open about celebrating, particularly after overcoming one of the most difficult tests of her life—the shattering of her 15 year marriage to gospel star Deitrick Haddon.
Reuben Chandler shares a snap of his best man Reese Chandler Jr. and Donnie McClurkin whom he calls “Uncle Donnie” on his wedding day. Though the dust has finally settled, just last year, things got dirty after Deitrick publicly pinned their split on Isaac Carree’s adulterous affair with Damita.
Though the scandalous details caused a raucous in the faith community, speculation was never cleared and questions about who cheated continue to linger.
Nevertheless, both have since moved on.

Damita’s new man Reuben, a Harlem, NY native, photographer and military veteran, was the “No Looking Back” singer’s friend for years before the two became romantically involved.
“God truly did do it. We were friends for a long, long time,” she said in a recent social cam video, professing her love of Reuben.
“For over 13 years we’ve been friends and for God to send you back into my life at the timing that He did and for us to be around, and with one another, without any intents or motive of getting married, or dating [was a God thing].”
Perhaps, Damita wasn’t thinking about romance, but Reuben said, he definitely had it on the brain.
“When I saw you,” he told her, “I had intentions.”
The two shared a laugh and Damita added, “You were sexy. When you walked through that door, I said, ‘My God!’”
The new wife has a new look for her new life. Damita, who is known for her signature long, dark hair, has opted for a close cropped blonde do.

Initially, after reconnecting, Damita said she wasn’t sure if Reuben was single, while admitting, “the whole world knew” her relationship status after Deitrick put it on blast.
Despite the ugliness of it all, however, happiness has seemingly found her once again.
EEW Magazine first broke the story of Damita and Reuben’s engagement in February when, on social cam, she flashed a gigantic engagement ring at the grocery store while shopping for a Super Bowl party.
Now that the two have become one, they are in full on celebration mode.
On Sunday, May 4, “Reumita”—an original mashup of their two names created by Reuben—the newlyweds hosted a barbecue to party up with friends and family in honor of their new lives together.
