“I Don’t Do It For The Awards But The Rewards” | Lecrae Speaks On Winning BET Award

After taking home the award for Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award last Sunday 25th June. The rapper took to his Instagram to share his excitement stating that God is the master artist and he is only doing his best to be like Him. He went on to announce that all the work he puts into his songs are not for the award but for the rewards. Lastly he appreciated all those who have supported him even in his bad days.

“I don’t do it for the Awards…but the rewards. Whatever category it is I’m just glad people appreciate my art. God is the master artist I’m just trying to be like Him.

Thanks to those in the 11Six movement. And anyone who supported me even on my worst day. I love y’all.”

The BET awards which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, hosted both mainstream and Gospel artistes together in one place. The Gospel artistes present included the nominees of the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award.
