So… over the weekend we stormed into Giljoe’s “Maturity” Concert, held at the Open Arcade event center. Yes! Praiseworld Radio was there to stream live and capture the concert in pictures.
The concert was jam-packed with gospel artistes like Nosa, Enkay, Adaehi, David, Nolly and Seyi Law the comedian. And Yes we were able to capture every performance.
The show kicked off at about 5pm with the atmosphere already pumped up and the audience ready for the event to unfold. Everyone was on their feet as it was an all standing event.
The likes of David and Nolly watered the ground as the concert began. Young David brought the whole audience to a stand still from the moment he opened his mouth to sing. His sultry unique tone overshadowed the atmosphere causing everyone to hang unto every word.
Nolly took over as he hit the stage singing his song “Orin meji”. The audience grooved along with him as he performed. He moved the concert unto another level as he began to sing his hit song “Oh yes” thereby firing up the atmosphere into a more jivey mood.
The MCs: Jibike and Deacon Kamol took us back into a solemn mood as they led us into an atmosphere of worship and prayer. The audience remained on their feet, praying and awaiting the entry of the reason behind the concert: Giljoe.
As he emerged onto the stage the audience roared with shouts, screams and appreciation. Expectant and excited as to what was about to happen.
Giljoe began with a few slow songs as the audience waved their hands and grooved along with him. He then went on to sing a couple of his songs one after the other. The audience showed him so much love as they sang along at each point.
With more fans and guests trooping in, Giljoe introduced the ever anointed Nosa who took us unto another level of worship and then went into his well known song “why you love me so.”
With the audience still recovering from Nosa. Adaehi emerged with her song “Cheta” taking it back into a solemn mood, then switched it up a bit with her hit song “lifted” which got everyone jumping and dancing.
Seyi Law was not left out as he appeared on stage with jokes that made every laugh till they cracked. The hall was full of laughter as Seyi Law did his thing and received a clapping ovation from the audience.
Other artists like Isreal and Frank Edwards graced the stage as they did various renditions of their songs. The night was full of laughter, excitement and good music. It is fair to say that Giljoe’s “Maturity” concert was indeed a great concert.
