Gospel artiste Iryne Rock releases “Never Known”.
Never Known is the titular track for her new album, Never Known – EP. The inspiration for the song Never Known came during a trying period for her family. Her father-in-law contracted COVID-19 before the pandemic lock down of 2020 and got so sick that he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Her family were unable to see him but remained steadfast in prayer.
“Never Known” was written as a reminder to them of how far God has brought them. He is faithful and will never fail us. The song was recorded in October 2020, produced by Grammy winning engineer Jonathan Crone and Grammy & Dove nominated producer Billy Smiley, in Franklin Tennessee.
This song hopes to lift up the spirit of every listener and reminds them that we serve a God that never fails.
Biography
Iryne Rock is a singer, songwriter and worship leader with a distinct and electrifying sound that is quickly becoming a favorite among lovers of Gospel and Christian music across the globe. She grew up in her home country Nigeria listening to all genres of Christian and inspirational music, which she credits helped shape her musical style. She would sing along to WOW CDs and inadvertently fell in love with artists like Cece Winans, Kirk Franklin, Panam Percy Paul, DC Talk, Newsboys and Michael W. Smith to name a few.
Iryne began writing her own songs in her teen years, and was encouraged to share some of the songs with the congregation at Solomon’s Porch Worship Center in Jessup Maryland where she led worship. The positive response reinforced what the Holy Spirit laid in her heart and birthed her first album, Just For You, in 2018.
It was an enlightening venture into music for her that led to an encounter with Grammy and Dove nominated producer Billy Smiley. Together they produced a worship EP, “Grateful,” released in May 2021. Even though she was never one to label herself as a worship artist, working on and releasing a worship EP offered a different perspective and was an experience she truly enjoyed.
Iryne’s latest single, What Love Is, was released in July 2021 and enjoyed international radio and TV play including on BET Soul. The song highlights Iryne as a dynamic, multifaceted, Nigerian-American, Christian Pop artist. On January 1st 2022, Iryne sang the National Anthem at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC for the NBA game between the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls with 19,000 plus attendees, an experience she is not too soon to forget.
Iryne has a new album, Never Known – EP released on March 30, 2022. She is also back in the studio working on new Afrocentric songs that highlights her Nigerian heritage. As a wife, mother, singer and songwriter, Iryne is excited to continue her journey spreading love and joy through her music.
