Urban Gospel artiste, Izzy has emerged winner in the Gospel Artist of the Year category at the maiden edition of the DMV African Entertainment Awards which held on the Saturday Night to the early hours of Sunday morning – 8th to 9th of November 2014 at the Civic Building, 1 Veterans Pl. Silver Spring, Maryland, USA.
The “Rababa” and “Certainly” crooner, Izzy expressed his gratitude saying:
“Wow!!! Yes! We won… Gospel Artist of the Year… The DMV African Entertainment Awards. I am so grateful to God for this.
Thanks to all my friends, fans (every fan is a friend as well lol), and everyone that has supported me one way or the other. You guys did it… Your support so far has yielded fruit and this is the fruit. Lol. Thank you so much guys.
I dedicate this award to God and to you ALL, and to all other African Gospel artists that were in the catergory and across the United States… All for His glory. We are all winners…”
Thavma records artist, Izzy has enjoyed a number of nominations this year for his efforts including African Gospel Music Awards and Crystal Awards to name a few. Crowning the year with this win must feel really good for him!
The DMV African Entertainment Awards is the first of its kind in the DC, Maryland & Virginia area, awarding individuals who have mastered their art, also who have contributed to the growth of Africa and African entertainment in the diaspora. Parts of the proceeds of the award will go to La Main Tendue Non-Profit Organization.
