Kim Burrell Bounces Back From Backlash

Kim Burrell is a multi-award winning American Gospel Musician. She is known to be  a recording and performing artist and hails from Houston, Texas.

With a career that spans over two decades, the Pastor’s daughter who is also a Pastor herself came under attack a while back on social media.

For preaching against homosexuality at her church; The Love and Liberty Fellowship Church.

This led to the cancellation of her scheduled appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show. She was  removed as an honoree at the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music event. Her radio talk show, “Bridging the Gap” was also cancelled by Texas Southern University.

Regardless of the backlash she received earlier in the year, Kim Burrell received an award for Outstanding Song Traditional; I See a Victory in the NAACP Image Awards 2017.

She sang the song alongside Pharrell Williams and they both received their awards over the weekend at the 48th NAACP Image Awards.

The NAACP Image Awards is a recognised, prominent multi-cultural Award Ceremony in the Unites States.

Kim Burrell had suffered several forms of  social media backlash and all kinds of shade. For preaching against Gay and Lesbianism at her church.

However, she received support from the Christian community as they continue to pray for her to receive grace to move on from the trauma the event may have caused her and her career.

The award she received over the weekend reaffirms that she is definitely bouncing back from the backlash she endured earlier in the year and shows that it would definitely not bring her career to a halt.
