Gospel music legend Kirk Franklin and the sensational duo Mary Mary have been unveiled to host the Stellar Awards this year. The 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards are set to take place January 19, 2013 in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry House.
The 2012 edition of the awards saw Dorinda Clark Cole and Marvin Sapp as hosts. This year looks to be fun with the hosts. Kirk Franklin hosts BET Sunday Best and Mary Mary are preparing for the second season of their reality TV show scheduled to hit TV screens by December
The Stellars closed their ballots for public voting on Oct. 15th and will hold a press conference on Friday, Oct. 26th in Atlanta, GA to announce the final nominees for all categories. The nominees will be announced via webcast at thestellarawards.com.
Special acheivements for the Stellars this year are:
The Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Legends Award – Inez Andrews.
The Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award recipient – Bishop T.D. Jakes
The James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award – Kurt Carr.
