How Listening To Praiseworld Radio for 10 Minutes Changed My Life – Pastor Bolaji

Olutola Omoniyi — I was surprised when Pastor Bolaji tapped me on the shoulder to greet me at the just concluded M.A.S.S Concert in Ado Ekiti. Pastor Bolaji is a vibrant Pastor based in the city of Ado Ekiti who I was opportuned to meet the last time I visited the town. For him to have spotted me was genius and mostly surprising because I was somewhere not too conspicuous and had only met him once before then.

While the pleasantries were ongoing, he asked that I stepped out of where I was so he could share something with me. Oh sure, I hurriedly did. Yeah, I love people sharing with me.

Top on the list of the few things he shared was an experience he recently had; how listening to Praiseworld Radio for about 10 minutes inspired and changed his life. Now that attracted more of my attention.

Okay,  according to Pastor Bolaji, he tuned in to Praiseworld Radio last week during the breakfast show (The Praise O’Clock Show) hosted by my humble self, and was only tuned in for a few minutes, but heard me sharing some stuff about the “God’s NOT dead” movie.

God's Not Dead

At this point, I could clearly recall the particular show he was talking about. I was on air gisting about the movie, asking those who have seen it for the part that inspired them the most; and strongly recommending to those who hadn’t seen it to go check it out. To me, it was just one of those regular breakfast shows, but seems it turned out to be an extraordinary one for Pastor Bolaji.

I must point out that my gisting about the movie that morning was majorly inspired by an article titled “’God’s Not Dead’ Just Hit Home!” written by Amy, which had just been published on Praiseworld’s official website.

Pastor Bolaji went on to narrate how he immediately went out of his way to get the movie, and how it’s been testimonies all the way for him as the Holy Spirit has since inspired him tremendously. He has since infected his beautiful wife with the ‘buzz’. (Please see summary about the movie below this post)

I guess this meant a lot to Pastor Bolaji because he had many years ago experienced something not exactly, but similar to the movie’s scenario. This happened back in his University days, during one of the Philosophy courses he was taking, where the lecturer had made statements enunciating that there is not God.

Unfortunately, he says most of the students (who in their case didn’t have to sign “God’s Not Dead” in black and white, as it was in the movie) consented to the lecturer’s thesis by virtue of their silence and laughter. I caught something right there… There are a lot of times we don’t join scorners in jesting about God, but we stay quiet and smile, not making any attempt at  – That is bad enough.

Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. – Romans 8: 32

Could your silence be some kind of approval to those wrong things your friends say or do around you?

Oh! Tola hush! I didn’t intend preaching with this post. Back to the subject – Pastor Bolaji went on expressing how grateful he is to God and to the vessels God uses through Praiseworld Radio to bring about inspiration to thousands around the world. That for me was VERY inspiring.

Just maybe I wouldn’t have gotten this feedback if I didn’t take that trip to Ado-Ekiti, and so also (I believe) there are a lot of people out there with similar stories who haven’t shared. God bless you, Pastor Bolaji for sharing.

Kind suggestion: Always keep it locked to Praiseworld Radio. I’m on air every weekday from 8am-12noon. ‘Would be nice to have you join me. Cheers!

ABOUT THE MOVIE “God’s Not Dead”

Present-day college freshman and devout Christian, Josh Wheaton, finds his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by the dogmatic and argumentative Professor Radisson. Radisson begins class by informing students that they will need to disavow, in writing, the existence of God on that first day, or face a failing grade.

As other students in the class begin scribbling the words “God Is Dead” on pieces of paper as instructed, Josh find himself at a crossroads, having to choose between his faith and his future. Josh offers a nervous refusal, provoking an irate reaction from his smug professor.

Radisson assigns him a daunting task: if Josh will not admit that “God Is Dead,” he must prove God’s existence by presenting well-researched, intellectual arguments and evidence over the course of the semester, and engage Radisson in a head-to-head debate in front of the class.

If Josh fails to convince his classmates of God’s existence, he will fail the course and hinder his lofty academic goals. With almost no one in his corner, Josh wonders if he can really fight for what he believes. Can he actually prove the existence of God?
