Jesus’ disciples couldn’t cast out a particular demon (they were powerless for that situation), and they were miffed, because they thought they should, after all they’ve been taught that all that is required is faith.
However Jesus told them,”But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” -Matthew 17:21.
What that tells me is that, while GOD often uses what is available, HE will rather use what is CONSECRATED.
And there are levels of spiritual exploits we would never be able to do without CONSECRATION.
The presence of the Holy Spirit, and the inherent power that comes with it is most active and productive in a consecrated life.
And you cannot be consecrated to GOD while indulging in sin.
Of cause the yardstick for consecration can not be miracles, signs, and wonders,
Especially not today when miracles are being staged, and where several miracle workers employ diabolical powers to their aid.
No, not even when the miracles are genuine, and in Christ’s Name can we make miracles a yardstick for consecration.
And these just further proves my point, that the attention so many, so called men of GOD enjoy because miracles have through them occur, is undue. “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from GOD and not from us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7.
The focus of the church should be the fruit of the Spirit in a believers life, not miracles, or money;
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23. “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name and in Your Name drive out demons and in Your Name perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” – Matthew 7:23.
Jesus the Christ Himself is our yardstick; He modeled CONSECRATION to us, and obedience to the will of the FATHER, and we witness Him wielding immeasurable spiritual power.
