Growing up a “preacher’s kid” in the Tidewater Region of Virginia, Derek began singing in his father’s church at the age of three year’s old. His vocal gifts blossomed as he matured, and thirty-five years later, Derek has shared the stage with renowned gospel artists such as James Hall, Fred Hammond, Donnie McCLurkin, Jonathan Nelson, Earl Bynum, LaShun Pace Rhodes, and Deitrick Haddon.
