Laye (real name Oyinlayefa Okpalo); an upcoming inspirational vocalist, song writer and producer who aims to take the gospel music genre to the world in a unique way, has released his debut single “Days Of Elijah”.
‘God of Elijah’ is the first single from his upcoming debut album titled ‘Sinner to Saint’ produced by Yungprince with additional effects on mix and mastering by Laye’s personal producer ‘Phealz’.
Born on June 3rd 1993, from Bayelsa state, Laye started up as a rapper while in high school, but music became serious to him about 2 to 3 years ago after listening to Lecrae.
“I had always had a thing for music, never thought it would be gospel, but God turned my story around and now I do gospel music. I’m young, on fire for God and my style my delivery isn’t something you see normally in African gospel.” he says.
“Presently working on my first album, this would consist of about 15 to 20 songs. I have worked with Bennywise 9 and I am looking forward to working with Ada and Frank Edwards. Musically my role model is a rapper named Lecrae.” Laye revealed.
“I see myself being on top of my game, doing mighty exploits, in the industry. Never give up on your dreams, that’s what gonna make you stand out in life. And remember God first and God always.”
