DIVINE MISSIONS:
Divine Missions is a medical missions organization located in Springfield, MO USA.
Our vision is to extend God’s love and life to under-reached communities through accessible and effective healthcare.

Two scriptures that we rely on are Exodus: 35: 31 and 2 Peter: 1: 3 which help us believe that God has given us everything that we need to successfully carry out this work, and we also believe that God has given in abundance what these communities need for life.

HOW IT STARTED:
In 2007, a friend visited me back when I was living in Lagos, Nigeria. While we were chatting, he said, “Dami, where do you see yourself in about 5-10 years from now?” I was not expecting that and I also had no clue where I would be even in one year! I could not answer this question…

After he left, that one question became a huge burden in my heart as I suddenly realized I had no vision for my life. I began to pray about this. I asked The Lord, “for what purpose was I created?” I continued to pray and some months after that I was at home and The Lord showed me a vision for Divine Missions.

I wrote down every single detail but I had no idea how He was planning to bring this vision to pass. I also wrote down my academic plan, and since then worked with that plan as I continued to seek God’s guidance. I had a period of 2 years when I was stuck at a certain point because I did not know what next. The plan was to finish my education then start on the road to my vision.

However, in December 2013, The Lord said to me, “now is the time to start!” Because I have not completed my education and I barely have time for myself, I tried negotiating with him. I thought to myself, it’s almost impossible to go to school, work my regular job, and do medical missions. As you would imagine, I did not succeed at my negotiation because Divine Missions officially started in January, 2014.

PROJECTED PROJECT PLAN:
Our first project- MALARIA AWARENESS is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2014. We would be reaching out to Oko-Baba: Home of Destitute in Ebute Metta Lagos, Nigeria. This community has over 2000 residents, and we will be working with about 52 medical volunteers consisting of nurses, medical lab scientists, doctors, and pharmacists.

We will also partner with FECA Lagos zone on the spiritual aspect. Our goal on this day is to provide the residents of Oko-Baba community with medical tests and consultation as well as give them preventive materials such as mosquito nets, and medications.

We are very excited for the lives that God will reach through us.

While we are still in the process of deciding on medical missions to Honduras in March, 2015, we have scheduled a project to set up a health center in July, 2015 in Nigeria. We are yet to finalize where the center would be located.

Oko Baba Divine Missions Project: Aug 16, 2014.

TESTIMONIALS?
At this phase, we do not have tangible testimonies just yet. However, we have people who have been inspired by our vision. I have personally had people call me to ask about what we do and every time, I watch one more person being challenged to discover their purpose and walk in it.

Also, we frequently update our pages on different social networks with our progress which in itself encourages and challenges them to not sit back and be ordinary. I am saying this based on personal testimonies I have heard from people who are connected to Divine Missions.

CHALLENGES?
Oh absolutely, many challenges! However, I will only talk about one that’s really huge. As a missions organization, our success greatly depends on funding. Over the past months, we have basically been going through a phase where we make the first impression as we establish relationships with sponsors and potential partners.

But like I said, it is a phase and we believe that as we go on, we will build more solid and trusting relationships…

RACHEAL SAYS:
