Being her first time at The Experience Lagos, many of us didn’t know what to expect. Was she going to sing or just blow her saxophone (Like Nathaniel Blow)? We were left with no other choice but to anticipate!
Angella Christie BLEW OUR MINDS!!!. The highlight? Was when she performed to the popular Nigerian worship song in the Yoruba dialect, Olorun To Da Awon Oke Igbani, Eyin Ni Mo Fi Ope Mi Fun…
WHAT???
Well, although that came as a surprise, we got many more surprises when other international artistes thrilled us as they ministered in our local Nigerian dialects.
Oh!, that passion and vibe in her spirit filled ministration as she took us into her world to serenade Christ. It was awesome!
Angella Christie is a foremost inspirational gospel saxophonist with an accolade of sensational songs. She made her debut into the gospel music industry with her song titled ‘Eternity’ (Air Gospel).
Born to missionary parents and having grown up in various parts of the world, Angella who is branded as the ‘silent songstress’ began her music exploits when she stood before the church to play her first solo.
Christie has released seven albums and did a 40-city National tour in 2000. Her 1998 album ‘Hymn & I’ reached the 224th spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Album. Her 2008 album ‘The Breath of Life’ reached the 9th spot on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz and 31st spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums.
Angella also won a Stellar Award in 2009 for ‘Instrumental Gospel CD of the Year.
