Hello everyone,
Welcome Welcome Welcome
Please make yourselves comfortable, you need to be, as I tell you my story.
Somehow, the past is fuzzy. Though it was some two/ three years ago, that fine line that runs through on y-axis, I cannot remember.
Think it was on twitter. Someone had retweeted a certain tweet that caught my interest.
Gaise had recently released the songs ‘Dobale’ and ‘Awa O Tush’. Like everyone else, I couldn’t stop listening to these songs. Even had my own special dance-steps choreographed
The retweeted tweet was tweeted by a certain @PRAISEWORLD_. So I checked out their bio, which made me click on the link. They seemed legit enough. I only listened to The Praise O’Clock with @SpiceontheMic.
On the first day of November, 2012, I tweeted at them that it was my birthday. Tola, the host of the breakfast show, asked to to fill my details in on the website. I thought it was just the formal thing to do. So I obliged.
Some minutes later, my phone rang and the conversation went thus:
Hello, am I unto O-pe-ye-mi Oooo-to-Lorin? (you could tell my name wasn’t the most friendly to pronounce. I forgave for two reasons, it was my birthday and two, the caller was so excited to be making the call, I was practically giggling)
So I confirmed that it was indeed me.
Then the caller said, “You’re live on Praiseworld Radio………….” (I didn’t hear the rest, because I was screaming away)……. Happy birthday (insert some prayers)….. What song would you like us to play for you?
I was too excited to think; knowing that I had a head full of songs, all I could remember was Gaise – Dobale.
And the rest, they say is history.
N.B.
This may not really be an accurate version of the story. I’m sure PWR keeps an archive of the calls made.Maybe we could replay it on air.
I have since begun to listen to other shows besides The Praise O’clock show. I looove the Afternoon Groove. Girl’s Rock is another favorite of mine. Hip-hop Lounge is my thing. Women of worship? Ahhhhh, love it. Praiseworld Chart Show, that Top ten countdown, how could I miss it?
Now, that you know my story, what’s yours?
