MUSIC: ‘Tonia – Ma Dupe (ft Provabs) | @ToniaSho1

tonia-madupe-provabs

“Ma dupe” by ‘TONIA featuring Gospel Rap sensation, Provabs, is more than just a song of thanksgiving. It is a soulful song that reflects the undiluted Faithfulness of God and an expression of profound gratitude, for all He has done, and all He will ever do in our lives.

A popular saying rang a bell while I wrote. “If you can think well, then you can thank well.” If we look back over our lives, we will see the bold prints of God’s never ending Faithfulness. The ever reliable and ever dependable One who has borne us gallantly through thick and thin. – Tonia

As a fusion of contemporary high-praise and classic indigenous high-life feel, “Ma dupe” takes you on a sweet and pleasurable journey into these two genre of music.

A heart filled with thanksgiving will always burst forth and naturally glide into praise; hence the transition into high life with deep seated exaltation of the many-sided God whom we serve.

If you have ever had reasons to give up, but you are still standing today, despite all odds; if you have ever experienced a cascade off negative emotions of worry, discouragement and trials, then “Ma dupe” is the most likely song to get your praise on! – ‘Tonia

“Ma Dupe” was produced by Toba Ogunremi (Prolifix Music).

ABOUT ‘TONIA

God has always kept a remnant for Himself; a selected few who stand true to His call on their lives. Such vessels are like the twelve disciples of old, who were not limited to a particular field of life but were drawn from various facets of human endeavor.

It is no surprise then that Anthonia Shodunke, a graduate of Pharmacy from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University would be known on stage by many as ‘Tonia; a woman of simplicity with a heart panting after God. She is fueled with her passion to see people all over the Globe inspired to worship and praise God and she longs to see His will done on earth as expressed through the New Testament Worship.

‘Tonia was born in Maiduguri, Borno State but hails from Ika South LGA of Delta State. She’s the seventh of eight siblings born to the family of Late Mr T. I. Okoh. She is married to Pst Shofela Shodunke and is a proud mother of two wonderful children.

Her passion for music began at an early age and brought her to being an integral part of various choirs including the Victory Voice, Sound of Praise, The NFCPS choir, RCCG Mass Choir, Winners’ Voice in Kano and Abeokuta.

She runs with a mandate to reach out to her world through albums, books concerts and outreaches with an emphasis on the Faithfulness of God. As a Praise Team Leader, she seeks to Glorify God and to provide the Church of God with a biblical avenue for an outward expression of the revelation of the Glory of God.

This stems from a mandate she received from God on the 23rd of May 2004 which stated: “Start to work towards becoming a ‘Sou‎nd’ worship leader in My hands, both in Skill and in Anointing because I am going to use you to raise others up.” God made her understand in succinct details, His intent to make her a proponent for change in the attitude and approach of both worship leaders and worshipers on the face of the earth. The mission is to build a people who would grow spiritually and fall deeper in love with God, with the understanding that ‎” You cannot lead in praise of a God you do not know”.

In obedience to this call, a group called ‘The Springs of Praise’ was later birthed: a 16-man band of passionate worshipers with a sense of calling; panting after the entity of God. Thus far, quite some ground has been covered via a solid foundation of prayer, personal worship sessions, deep teachings and conferences.

Giving back and affecting lives positively is key to her and has culminated into the ‎passion to reach out to Orphanages with the Word of hope, relief supplies and celebrating events with the children to foster love. Various activities have also been incorporated to harness and develop the innate abilities
in these precious children; pointing them to Christ in whom they are assured of a glorious future.

‎‘Tonia’s ministry has been influenced by many great women including Darlene Zchech , Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams. She has also been privileged to minister alongside the likes of late Isaac Rowland, Tope Alabi, Bola Are, Samsong, Solomon Lange and Eben.
