Vandals are said to have spray-painted a Long Island church with upside-down crosses, hex symbols and also with the words “devil” and “witch spells.”
The New Covenant Church Pastor; Rob Taormina had this to say about the incident;
“It’s just a coincidence that Sunday morning, my message was on love,” . “Love is patient, love is kind. So we’re going to be patient, and we’re praying for the individuals and believe in God, that God will touch them.”
The incident is said to have happened between Sunday night and Monday before dawn. The glass on the front door was smashed and words and symbols were spray painted on the exterior walls, doors and steps.
“When the detectives were here, they said they think it’s kids because number one, they spelled the things wrong.
There is no security footage, so police are depending on the public for tips.”
On Tuesday volunteers helped out to cover up the graffiti, and the Pastor has decided to install cameras.
A church in Arkansas was also said to have been vandalized in January with the messages “Death to God,” “Satan be with you” and “666.”
The Izard County Sheriff’s Department shared the news through a post on their social media:
“It was reported Saturday that the Flat Rock Church and cemetery located north of Arkansas Highway 56 had been vandalized.
Deputy Steve Davidson found the headstones, the inside and outside of the church had been spray-painted with graffiti along with what is believed to be various Satanic symbols,”
The graffiti affected several residents whose family members either were married or are buried on the site.
Erica Holt Brandon wrote:
“This very unsettling. We have family in buried in this cemetery,” “This is a horrible act made from ungodly people. Yes, they should be prosecuted for this act. They also need prayers for their souls.”
