The Grammy Award-nominated singer’s song “Fighters,” has now made it’s way on the prestigious Billboard Gospel Airplay chart. Thereby landing at No. 28. The song is targeted towards inspiring women who have experienced domestic violence just as she has.
Cheryl Fortune is about to begin her solo recording career with the release of her Lucius B. Hoskins-produced debut single “Fighters”. She hopes to offer a sense of hope, strength and boldness to women all around the world.
Over the years, Cheryl has written, produced and arranged background vocals for recording sessions by her now estranged husband James Fortune and his group & FIYA along with other gospel music notables.
She is widely known throughout the gospel music industry as a former member of her husband’s GRAMMY-nominated and Stellar Award winning recording group James Fortune & FIYA.
As the sound of the ensemble Cheryl lended backing vocal, co-writing and vocal production on projects like: LIVE THROUGH IT (2014), GRACE GIFT (2012), IDENTITY (2012), ENCORE (2010) to name a few.
